UNIX/Linux Support Engineer(EST)

We are looking for a UNIX/Linux Support Engineer to provide comprehensive operational support for our enterprise's mixed UNIX/Linux infrastructure. This infrastructure includes RHEL, Ubuntu, AIX, HP-UX, and Solaris systems hosted on Dell, IBM, and Cisco UCS hardware, as well as VMware ESX, OpenShift, RStudio, GPFS, and LSF environments. The remote engineer will focus on resolving approximately 85% of incidents without the need for physical access, collaborating with on-site staff for hardware tasks and escalations.

Location:

Quantori is an international team: we have colleagues who work not only from office but also remotely from all over the world.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and resolve alerts via ServiceNow and TrueSight for Linux/Unix and virtualized systems.
  • Troubleshoot filesystem, CPU, memory, swap, and agent issues.
  • Execute approved standard changes such as service restarts, configuration updates, and agent reinstalls.
  • Perform health checks and first-level troubleshooting for GPFS, LSF, OpenShift, and RStudio environments.
  • Use Ansible Tower and Red Hat Satellite for patching and configuration management.
  • Maintain and improve automation scripts and reporting tools for recurring operational tasks.
  • Collaborate with the on-site team and L3 SMEs for escalated or hardware-dependent incidents.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation approximately once per month, providing after-hours support for high-priority incidents.
  • Escalate and coordinate tasks with L3 Support Engineers.
  • Ensure ServiceNow tickets and incident bridges are properly updated during off-hours events.

What we expect:

  • Strong experience supporting RHEL 6–9 and Ubuntu 20/22/24 in production environments, including patching, monitoring, and incident response.
  • Hands-on experience with VMware ESX, GPFS, and LSF, and working knowledge of OpenShift and RStudio services.
  • Strong understanding of Ansible Tower, Red Hat Satellite, Puppet, and shell scripting.
  • Experience with ServiceNow, TrueSight, and PATROL for monitoring and ITSM processes.
  • Solid grasp of Linux networking and remote troubleshooting practices in large enterprise environments.
  • 3–5 years of experience in Linux/Unix support within enterprise environments.
  • RHCSA and/or ITIL v4 Foundation certification.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively within remote, structured support operations.
  • Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
  • EST availability

Nice to have:

  • Familiarity with AIX and other Unix platforms (HP-UX, Solaris).

We offer:

  • Competitive compensation
  • Remote or office work
  • Flexible working hours
  • Healthcare benefits: medical insurance and paid sick leave
  • Continuous education, mentoring, and professional development programs
  • A team with an excellent tech expertise
  • Certifications paid by the company
