Scientific Business Analyst, Drug discovery

Quantori is seeking a Senior Business Analyst who has been exposed to a pharma or life-science environment, ideally collaborating with scientists. A biology or chemistry-oriented background and former education is beneficial to understand scientific workflows and processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Gather user requirements and conduct needs assessments to guide software development and selection
  • Identify challenges and opportunities through independent research and best practice analysis
  • Conduct interviews, lead requirements sessions, and facilitate user workshops
  • Support scientific research by enabling data capture, analysis, and interpretation through tailored software solutions
  • Collaborate with researchers to define needs and identify appropriate solutions
  • Build strong relationships across a matrixed organization, working closely with UX, Product Management, Business Analysts, and User Researchers
  • Identify and qualify new business demands, and guide proposals through initial approval stages
  • Ensure smooth introduction of new or modified services with minimal disruption and maximum benefit
  • Develop detailed IT solution designs based on functional specs, technical constraints, and performance requirements
  • Integrate services across departments and manage inter-project interfaces
  • Support Agile planning and project execution
  • Help define SLAs for new systems, including performance goals and service expectations 

What we expect:

  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst on software development projects
  • Background in pharma or life sciences; biology/chemistry knowledge is a plus
  • Strong in requirements gathering, user interviews, and use case documentation
  • Skilled in defining functional, non-functional, business, and transitional requirements
  • Proficient in writing user stories (SCRUM/Kanban)
  • Experienced in current/future state analysis, workflows, and gap analysis
  • Confident in aligning business and tech teams on requirements
  • Supports product vision, scope, and roadmap definition
  • Hands-on with UAT, test planning, and reviewing deliverables
  • Familiar with BPMN, business architecture, and data modeling
  • Able to understand the key phases of the drug discovery process
